What’s up, Asian Cities? (August 2017)

[agg-ad id=”14519″ align=”left”]

From the pop-up art school in Bangkok to the new hip block in Kuala Lumpur, there are so many awesome things happening in Asian cities. We give you a glimpse here to remind you of how great they already look.

Bangkok

All the cool kids go to the COMMONS, a community hub in Bangkok. This time is for the kids, literally. The pop-up art workshop explores a range of different materials and techniques for artists in the making.

Beijing

Art collective teamLab lights up Beijing with their new exhibition: Living Digital Forest and Future Park. Don’t be anxious, it goes on until October 10th.

Hong Kong

We talk and talk about teeny tiny apartments and monotonous skyscrapers in Hong Kong. Then, bam! the city drops this view. You got us, Hong Kong.

Kuala Lumpur

Check out how the Zhongshan Building looked a year ago. Now it’s a new home for different arts and research communities in Kuala Lumpur. Great job, team.

Seoul

If you’ve ever seen the Han River in Seoul, you must have thought, ‘With water this big and wide, they gotta do something in the sticky hot summer.’ Seoulites agree.

📽🎞👥💦 Enjoy a movie with people under the Hangang bridge! <2017 Han River under the bridge Film Festival> will take place each Saturday night from 8pm under four of the bridges—Cheonho Bridge, Cheongdam Bridge, Seongsan Bridge and Wonhyo Bridge from tomorrow to August 19. Don’t forget to bring a mat!

Singapore

Who needs to travel the real world when you can see more than forty UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one place? The Taj Mahal looks less majestic but much cuter in Lego.

Tokyo

Sensoji temple and its gate, Kaminarimon, are two of the most popular attractions in Tokyo. Few know how to enjoy the sites more than once. Visit them at day time and at night. In touristy summer and on traditional New Year’s Day. You’ll feel the difference.
